Komai family residence

 good morning! !

Today I uploaded a photo of the Komai family residence that I visited the other day! !

Fee: 500 yen

This residence was built as the private residence of Dr. Takashi Komai, a professor emeritus at Kyoto University who made great achievements in animal genetics and animal taxonomy.

It was built between the end of the Taisho period and the beginning of the Showa period, and is located in a quiet residential area of Kitashirakawa, known as the ``scholar village,'' and is a Western-style building with a spacious garden to the east overlooking Mt. Hiei.
This house was built in 1929 as the private residence of Dr. Takashi Komai (1886-1972), professor emeritus of Kyoto University, who made great achievements in animal genetics and animal taxonomy in Japan, and was designed by Vories Architectural Office.
