In this post, I’d like to share some highlights from my trip to Istanbul, Turkey—specifically the bustling bazaars, the iconic Galata Bridge, and the delicious local favorite, the mackerel sandwich (balık ekmek). ◆ Grand Bazaar One of the must-visit attractions in Istanbul is the Grand Bazaar . This vast indoor market feels like a maze, with over 4,000 shops lining its colorful alleyways. You'll find everything from spices, lamps, carpets, and ceramics to jewelry and leather goods. The vibrant colors and intricate designs are truly a feast for the senses—I found myself stopping every few steps, completely captivated. It's also a great place to shop for souvenirs. Just remember: bargaining is part of the experience !  今回はトルコ・イスタンブール旅行の中でも特に印象深かった、バザール（市場）巡りと、名物サバサンド、そしてその舞台とも言えるガラタ橋についてご紹介します。 ◆ グランドバザール（Grand Bazaar） イスタンブールで絶対に外せない観光地のひとつが、 グランドバザール 。まるで迷路のような屋内市場には、なんと4,000以上の店舗が並んでいるとも言われています。 スパイス、ランプ、絨毯、陶器、アクセサリー、革製品など…歩くだけで五感が刺激される空間！トルコならではの鮮やかな色合いやデザインに惹かれて、ついつい目移りしてしまいました。 お土産探しにも最適ですが、値段交渉はほぼ必須。笑顔で「ディスカウント？」と聞けば、フレンドリーに応じてくれるお店も多いですよ！ ◆ ガラタ橋とサバサンド（Balık Ekmek） そして、イスタンブールのもう一つの顔とも言えるのが ガラタ橋 ！ 橋の上では釣りをする地元の人々の姿があり、その下ではレストランやカフェが川沿いに並びます。ここでぜひ味わいたいのが、名物 サバサンド（Balık Ekmek） ！ 焼いたサバをパンに挟んだだけのシンプルな料理ですが、レモンの酸味と絶妙な塩気がクセになる味。海を眺めながらかぶりつく一口は、旅の疲れを吹き飛ばしてくれる美味しさでした。 ◆ まとめ イスタンブールは、ただの観光地ではありません。バザールでの人々とのやり取り、川辺で味わうサバサンド、そして歴史が刻まれたガラタ橋の風景――そこには、日常と非日常が絶妙に溶け合う「旅の本質」が詰まっていました。 トルコ料理や買い物が好きな方はもちろん、文化や人とのふれあいを大切にしたい方にもぴったりの街です。次回の旅先に、ぜひイスタンブールを加えてみてくださいね！ ご興味のある方はサイトのフォローや下記動画の登録よろしくお願いいたします。（右上↑） If you are interested, please follow the site and register the video below.

This former merchant house, quietly nestled along the old highway, offers a rare glimpse into the everyday life and bustling commerce of the Edo period. ◆ What is the Takeuchi Kaido? Before diving into the residence, let’s briefly look at the Takeuchi Kaido. This ancient road, known as Japan’s oldest national highway , stretches from Sakai City in Osaka to the Asuka region in Nara. It was established during the Asuka Period and played a key role in the dispatch of envoys to China and the transmission of continental culture.
