A ramen shop that offers optional menu items via gacha! ! "Juki"

This time, I’d like to introduce a ramen shop I found in the Esaka area of Osaka:

“Juki.”

In Esaka, a highly competitive ramen district, this shop stands out with its unique menu.
Today, I’ll focus on the bold Junky Mazesoba (1,300 yen) and the refined Chicken Ramen (950 yen).

What Is Juki?

Juki is a ramen shop located within walking distance of Esaka Station.
With its simple and calm exterior, the interior is clean and centered around counter seating, making it easy to visit alone.

The menu offers a wide variety—from rich, hearty dishes to light and refreshing options—so you can choose based on your mood.

Junky Mazesoba (1,300 yen)

First up is the Junky Mazesoba.

As the name suggests, this is a bold, punchy dish.
Thick noodles are coated in a rich sauce, topped with a generous variety of ingredients that instantly stimulate your appetite.

Toppings include:

  • Chashu pork
  • Egg yolk
  • Garlic
  • Green onions
  • Other umami-packed ingredients

A truly “junky” combination.

Once mixed well, the flavors of richness, saltiness, and fat come together in perfect harmony, creating an addictive taste.

The portion is quite generous, making it a highly satisfying choice—perfect for when you’re craving something hearty.

Chicken Ramen (950 yen)

Next is the Chicken Ramen.

In contrast to the mazesoba, this dish is elegant and delicate.

The soup delivers rich chicken umami while remaining clear and clean in taste.
It’s free of any heaviness, making you want to finish every last drop.

The noodles pair beautifully with the soup, creating an excellent overall balance.

The toppings are simple, allowing the quality of the ingredients to shine.
This is a great choice for those who appreciate classic, refined ramen.

Final Thoughts

Juki in Esaka offers two completely different styles:

  • Bold and hearty “junky” flavors
  • Refined and elegant light ramen
  • If you want something filling → Junky Mazesoba
  • If you want something refined → Chicken Ramen

Being able to choose based on your mood is one of the best things about this shop.

Marusho is a ramen restaurant that boasts high popularity in the Esaka area of Osaka.

Today, I’d like to introduce a popular ramen shop in the Esaka area of Osaka:

“Marusho Esaka.”
Among its many menu items, I’ll focus especially on the Taiwan Mazesoba DX and the Shoyu Ramen DX.

What Is Marusho Esaka?

Marusho is a ramen and mazesoba specialty shop located within walking distance of Esaka Station.
The interior is lively yet clean, making it easy to visit even when dining alone.

While the restaurant is known for its hearty portions, the flavors are well balanced, allowing you to enjoy every bite until the end. It’s a well-regarded local favorite that stays busy, especially during lunchtime.

Taiwan Mazesoba DX

First up is Marusho’s signature dish, the Taiwan Mazesoba DX.

The bowl is generously topped with:

  • Spicy minced meat

  • Garlic chives

  • Green onions

  • Egg yolk

  • Extra deluxe toppings unique to the DX version

Once everything is thoroughly mixed, the spicy, savory, and rich flavors burst together, instantly stimulating your appetite.

Although it has a noticeable kick, the egg yolk smooths out the spiciness, making it surprisingly easy to eat. The thick noodles pair perfectly with the sauce, offering a very satisfying and filling experience.

This is definitely the perfect choice for days when you’re craving something bold and hearty.

Shoyu Ramen DX

Next is the Shoyu Ramen DX.

While Marusho is famous for its mazesoba, this ramen should not be overlooked.

The broth has a deep, aromatic soy sauce flavor with plenty of richness, yet the aftertaste is clean and refreshing.

As a DX version, it comes with generous toppings such as:

  • Thick slices of chashu pork

  • Seasoned soft-boiled egg

  • Bamboo shoots

  • Nori seaweed

The balance between the noodles and the soup is excellent, giving the impression of a classic soy sauce ramen that has been carefully refined. It offers a different kind of satisfaction compared to the mazesoba, and its overall quality is impressive.

Mazesoba or Ramen?

  • If you want bold flavors and volume:
    → Taiwan Mazesoba DX

  • If you prefer a calmer, well-balanced taste:
    → Shoyu Ramen DX

Being able to choose based on your mood is one of Marusho’s biggest attractions.

Final Thoughts

Marusho Esaka is a standout ramen shop that excels not only in Taiwan mazesoba but also in traditional ramen.

The powerful punch of the Taiwan Mazesoba DX and the comforting stability of the Shoyu Ramen DX both prove that choosing the DX option is well worth it.

If you’re looking for a filling and satisfying ramen experience in Esaka, be sure to stop by Marusho Esaka.

A shop that is loved by everyone even if you are away from the station! Sanmen style warrior noodles(Updated in January 2021)

 Good morning

The shop I will introduce today is ramen Store name: Sanmen style samurai noodles Location: 3-10-20 Tarumicho, Suita City, Osaka Prefecture

It is less than 10 minutes walk from the nearest station. There are 6 counter seats and 4 box seats for 4 people in the store, and although it feels a little dim with wood grain, it has a very clean and calm atmosphere.

Product name: Kishu chicken salt soba large (rich) Price: 830 yen

There are two types of char siu, pork rose and plum meat. The pork rose is rich in fat, and the meat with plum meat is a dish that has the softness of steamed chicken and is famous for its plums. You can choose "rich" or "light" soup, but it's a dish that you can say that you're really glad you chose thick. The chicken salt soup is light but firm. I felt it was a little sweet salt. The condition of the soup entwined with the noodles was exquisite, so please try it once.

Product name: Chinese soba (light) Price: 630 yen The soup is made from seafood-based soy sauce and is made from simple ingredients, which I think is loved by everyone.

Yamaneko-ken, a ramen shop that has been steadily gaining popularity in the Esaka area of Osaka.

 What Is Yamaneko-ken?

Yamaneko-ken is a ramen and mazesoba specialty shop located within walking distance of Esaka Station.
While the exterior is simple and understated, the interior is clean and welcoming, making it easy to visit even if you’re dining alone.

In Esaka, a highly competitive ramen district, Yamaneko-ken is especially known for its strong commitment to soy sauce–based flavors.

Special Black Soy Sauce Mazesoba

First up is the Special Black Soy Sauce Mazesoba.

From the very first bite, you’re hit with a rich aroma and deep umami.
The bold flavor unique to black soy sauce clings perfectly to the thick, chewy noodles.

As you’d expect from a “special” version, the toppings are generous and luxurious:

  • Chashu pork

  • Seasoned soft-boiled egg

  • Menma (bamboo shoots)

  • Shredded nori seaweed

Despite its richness, it’s not overly heavy, and the well-balanced flavor keeps you enjoying every bite until the end.
If you like bold, punchy flavors, this bowl is a must-try.

Special White Soy Sauce Mazesoba

Next is the Special White Soy Sauce Mazesoba.

In contrast to the black soy sauce version, this one is elegant in both appearance and taste.
The gentle saltiness of white soy sauce and the refined umami of the broth base really stand out.

By highlighting the natural flavors of the ingredients, it pleasantly overturns the common image of mazesoba being overly rich or heavy.

It pairs beautifully with the special toppings, and leaves you with a lingering aftertaste that makes you think, “I could eat a little more.”

Black or White? If You Can’t Decide…

  • For richness and impact → Special Black Soy Sauce Mazesoba

  • For elegance and balance → Special White Soy Sauce Mazesoba

Both are exceptionally well-crafted, and it’s easy to see why opinions are divided depending on personal taste.

Final Thoughts

Yamaneko-ken in Osaka’s Esaka area is a fantastic spot to enjoy mazesoba that truly showcases the depth and versatility of soy sauce.

Black and white—two completely different personalities, yet both absolutely worth ordering in their “special” versions.

If you’re looking for ramen or mazesoba in Esaka, be sure to stop by Yamaneko-ken and experience their soy sauce–based creations for yourself.

See you again in the next food report!
