Shimonada Station, the station closest to the sea in Japan (updated in July 2017)

 Hello

This is Shimonada Station, the closest station to the sea in Japan, located in Ehime Prefecture, which I visited last year.

The location is south of Matsuyama Station in Ehime Prefecture, along the coast, and takes less than 50 minutes on the JR Shikoku Yosan Line.

The station is on a single track, and there is only one train per hour at most! However, as it is an unmanned station that is well-known not only among railway fans but also widely known, many people, like me, came to the station to relax and take pictures. Then, when the train came back, we got on it and went home together.

It is said that until the national highway was opened by reclaiming the sea surface, it was ``Japan's closest station to the sea,'' with the railroad tracks and the coast so close that waves could crash right under the platform. It is also a station that often appears in JR Seishun Ticket advertisements and dramas.

The photo above would be a good drawing. However, in the summer, it is recommended to go in the evening rather than during the day. Somehow, it was very hot! ! ! !
