Inotani Main Store in Tokushima – Trying the Chuka Soba (Medium Size, with Pork)

Today I visited Inotani Main Store, one of the most iconic ramen shops representing Tokushima. Known nationwide as a pioneer of Tokushima Ramen, this restaurant continues to attract both locals and travelers, and I finally had the chance to stop by.

I ordered the Chuka Soba (medium size) with pork.

When the bowl arrived, it was filled with a rich-looking broth and generous slices of meat. The soup has a deep, soy-sauce-based flavor with a mellow richness that spreads softly in your mouth. Despite this depth, it’s surprisingly easy to drink, making it the kind of soup you keep going back to with your spoon.

The noodles are medium thickness and have just the right amount of firmness. They hold the broth well and give a satisfying bite. The pork topping is tender, flavorful, and plentiful enough that you feel a bit spoiled.

One of the charms of Inotani is its simplicity. There’s nothing flashy, but every component—from the broth to the noodles and meat—is crafted with care, resulting in an honest, comforting bowl of Tokushima ramen.

If you’re traveling through Tokushima or simply love regional ramen styles, Inotani Main Store is absolutely worth a visit. Their Chuka Soba with pork is a timeless classic that exemplifies the heart of Tokushima’s ramen culture.
