Chūjō Mochi, the shop’s signature product, is a delightful treat made of soft yomogi (mugwort) rice cake filled with smooth and mildly sweet koshi-an (strained red bean paste). The moment you take a bite, the refreshing aroma of yomogi spreads in your mouth, and the chewy texture is simply exquisite! The subtle sweetness of the koshi-an leaves a clean aftertaste, making it easy to eat multiple pieces.

To complement the mochi, I ordered a warm cup of sencha (Japanese green tea), which provided a perfect balance of roasted notes and a hint of bitterness. The tea enhanced the gentle sweetness of the mochi, making it a highly recommended pairing for a relaxing moment.
